About WondR Smart Labs

Wondr Smart Labs launched in 2022 and offers STEAM-based educational programs. These programs include technology, tools, activities, and resources to promote the development of STEAM skills. Wondr Smart Lab’s approach combines a STEAM focus plus Tribal cultural integration to provide Tribal youth with a comprehensive learning experience.

WONDR LABS IN ACTION

Explore some examples of our previous Wondr Smart Labs lessons!

Participants learn the binary alphabet and use Pequot language to create their own bracelets
Programming includes a variety of coding activities, including a Hubub lesson, combining tech and traditional games
Wampum coding: Students used the LED Screen on the robots to recreate wampum patterns
Traditional dancing: Students learned how to make their robots sway to the beat of traditional Pequot music
Students learn engineering while incorporating traditional tribal housing methods
The summer permits us to have longer sessions with more in depth lessons, allowing for more learning opportunities for participants
Wondr Smart Labs participates in the Mashantucket Pequot Museum’s Kids Week events. We provide walk-up STEAM based activities, including a Learn to Code Workshop with cultural components to the kids week attendees to peak their interest in STEAM
