ABOUT THE POSITION
The Manager, Social Responsibility is a key member of the Wondr Nation Marketing team. Under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Operations, the Manager of Social Responsibility will be responsible for planning, managing and implementing the company's Social Responsibility initiatives which include Community Support and Outreach (ensuring alignment with the strategic priorities of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation), Community/Philanthropic Giving, Native American causes, Responsible Gaming and Sustainable Play community programs, and other community-based initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to social responsibility and an understanding of the gaming industry.
Candidates must have the ability to work flexible hours as needed and be willing to travel as required. Candidates must be located the New England region, with a strong preference for candidates in Connecticut. This role is remote/hybrid. Office presence in Connecticut may be required in the future.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Support, Outreach & Giving
Create, implement and manage community outreach programs in alignment with the priorities of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Wondr Nation.
Develop partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to further Wondr Nation social responsibility objectives.
Coordinate, develop, and implement Wondr Nation Smart Lab STEAM initiatives, identifying key contacts, influencers, and organizations in the communities served plus planning and executing on-site activities.
Own community giving/philanthropic contribution plan. Track, facilitate and manage corporate giving, philanthropic donations, community sponsorships and other related payments ensuring on-time submission and prompt payments.
Identify opportunities to partner with state/municipal departments, agencies, businesses, universities, school system key contacts, community-based organizations, etc. and build professional relationships.
Native American Causes
Research, develop and manage outreach programs to support Native American causes.
Develop partnerships with organizations and stakeholders to further Wondr Nation Native American causes goals and efforts.
Ensure Wondr Nation initiatives align priorities and beliefs of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
Coordinate, develop, and implement Native American cause initiatives, identifying key contacts, influencers, and organizations plus planning and execution as needed.
Responsible Gaming & Sustainable Play
In partnership with Compliance and Integrity Manager, develop and execute Responsible Gaming and Sustainable Play initiatives aligned with Wondr Nation’s vision and goals.
Manage Responsible Gaming initiatives, making sure Wondr Nation is actively connected and engaged with local non-profits, community organizations and university partners.
Administrative Across All Areas of Responsibility
Create and maintain Community Outreach, Native American causes, RG/Sustainable Play events, and other-related calendars tracking key events and initiatives.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including the creation and maintenance of Quarterly Reports and Executive Dashboards for Community Outreach, Native American causes, RG/Sustainable Play (in partnership with Compliance and Integrity Manager), and other Social Responsibility initiatives.
Create and maintain inventory of marketing collateral and assets needed to support efforts for Community Outreach, Native American causes, RG/Sustainable Play, and other Social Responsibility initiatives as needed.
Other
Manage the Social Responsibility Coordinator and/or other junior personnel assigned to support Social Responsibility efforts.
Represent Wondr Nation at key events and ensure participation from community partners and key internal stakeholders.
Coordinate with marketing and PR teams to communicate the company's social responsibility efforts to the public.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support and amplify our social responsibility efforts.
Advocate for the company’s social responsibility initiatives in public and professional settings.
Build brand loyalty and foster word-of-mouth throughout communities on behalf of Wondr Nation.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with Tribal Nations, particularly the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
Experience in the online gaming industry is a plus.
Strong understanding of community outreach and engagement strategies.
Demonstrated success in implementing social responsibility initiatives.
Dependable with strong work ethic and can be counted on to meet commitments.
Proven background and willingness to work in an atmosphere requiring flexibility and change.
Personable, with the ability to work well and collaboratively with others.
Detail-oriented and well-organized.
Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Proactive and self-motivated self-starter, with the ability to work alone and stay on task, plus the ability to work as part of a team.

Comfort and proficiency with Microsoft Office, and Google products.
Understanding of STEAM programming.
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Ability to travel locally 60-80% and work evenings/weekends, when required.
Ability to travel out of town when/if required.
Experience in a fast-paced environment yet faces tasks and challenges with energy and passion.
Must have valid driver’s license and reliable source of transportation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
3+ years experience in a social responsibility, community relations or community engagement role, preferably in the gaming industry.
3+ years experience of project management.
3+ years experience developing and managing programming or events.
3+ years experience supervising 1 or more team members as a full-time direct report.
Experience working with Native American communities.
Proven ability to build and cultivate new business relationships.
Demonstratable exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Budget management experience required.
Experience working collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in a fast-paced, evolving workspace a plus.
