WONDR NATION Sponsors Artisan Entrepreneur Symposium to Empower Local Entrepreneurs
Mashantucket, CT (may 25, 2023)
WONDR NATION®, the online gaming entertainment company and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s latest venture, is pleased to have sponsored The Artisan Entrepreneur Symposium. Hosted on Tuesday, May 23rd at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center, the half-day event brought together expert speakers, valuable panelists, and local success stories for a day of knowledge sharing and relationship building.
As part of WONDR NATION’s 5-year lead sponsorship of the Museum, the Symposium served as the first of many youth and adult programs that share inspirational stories, provide educational resources, and extend community access to key resources. The symposium addressed the unique perspectives and needs of over 60 attendees, providing them with valuable insights from entrepreneurial resources and thriving artisan entrepreneurs to support their journeys and business growth.
"We are proud to have kicked off this inaugural programming event at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center," said Anika Howard, President and CEO of WONDR NATION. "WONDR NATION is dedicated to supporting our tribal and local Connecticut communities with learning opportunities through our meaningful partnerships. The Artisan Entrepreneur Symposium is just the beginning of our commitment."
Prominent organizations such as the United South & Eastern Tribes (USET), the Women's Business Development Council (WBDC), SCORE Connecticut, and the Connecticut Small Business Development Council shared their expertise during presentation sessions and panel discussions, providing valuable insights to the attendees.
"We are proud to partner with WONDR NATION to bring the first, but certainly not the last, Artisan Entrepreneur Symposium to life,” said Joshua Carter, Executive Director of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center. “This event showcased the power of our shared commitment to empowering the community and increasing access to knowledge and tools for all. Together, we provided valuable information and resources to tribal and local entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping to foster knowledge sharing and networking building."
The event also marked a significant moment as WONDR NATION announced the recipient of a $1,000 grant to a tribally-owned business. This grant will further contribute to the growth and success of local entrepreneur Christina Walker, owner of Divine Financial Services, and allow her to invest in essential resources to expand her company’s reach and success.
